Dia Mehta Bhupal

CLIENT

Giving photography a twist, Hyderabad-based artist Dia Mehta Bhupal creates unique images of ordinary spaces, adding her own touch to each. In her debut solo show, Mind the Gap, Bhupal painstakingly constructs images from magazines, newspapers and cardboard, using thousands of tiny rolled pieces of paper, to create pictures of public spaces, which she photographs. Her images reflect the contemporary state of photography—the liminal possibility of introspection and hidden structures of meaning in the mundane.

OBJECTIVE

Creative Co. came on board as Dia Mehta Bhupal’s Social Media and PR agency. Our task was to establish Dia’s online presence on social media channels as well as garner the right amount of exposure and get credible journalists to talk about her distinctive art from all over India.

STRATEGY

As part of Dia’s online image building, Creative Co.’s strategy was to position, define, and promote her body of work to the right target audience online, thereby widening the reach. The key aim was to create curiosity and excitement for her debut solo show ‘MIND THE GAP’ at Gallery Ske, New Delhi. Strategic pan India media announcement was made to promote Mind The Gap. Her artwork was promoted among select target media as she presented it  at the first edition of Yinchuaan Biennale, China and gaining nationwide appreciation at Kochi Muziris Biennale’16. Creative Co. handled all the media engagements and arranged one to one interactions with various established newspapers and magazines to build noise around the Biennale dates.
